S O P For pH Meter
SOP of pH Meter is following
1. Ensure that the instrument is on clean and dry platform
2. Ensure that the instrument is clean.
3. Switch on the main power supply to the instrument that reads
β Name of the instrument pH meterβ
4. Press mode, it will display βpH mode- Press ENTER OR Modeβ. Press ENTER to enter
the pH mode.
5. Ensure that the instrument is calibrated (If the instrument is calibrated the display shows
βIβ on the right side of the display and If instrument is not calibrated, display shows βNβ
on the right side of the display)
6. Remove the pH electrode from the storage solution and rinse it with purified water for 2-
3 times. Soak the excess water with tissue paper and insert the pH electrode and
temperature sensor in the same beaker.
7. Stir the solution keeping the pH electrode and resistant temperature sensor immersed.
8. Allow stabilizing the pH and the record the pH . The display shows pH of sample,
temperature Β°C , mV and Calibration status as βIβ.
9. Press ENTER to take print of the observation.
10. Select the start mode by pressing β.β Key.
11. If it is in standard mode the display will show.
12. After completion of pH measurement rinse the pH electrode and temperature sensor
with purified water, Soak the excess water and insert the pH electrode and temperature
sensor in storage solution (Buffer of pH 7 having 1gm potassium chloride in 100ml of
water).
13. After the measurement enter details in usage log book and switch down the powe
